We had some very special visitors come to our house for the 4th of July weekend. The Krumsick family came all the way from Lawrence to spend time with us, and we are so glad they did! I met Melanie in OT school, and she quickly became a life long friend. Her husband, Greg, is a great guy who has a lot in common with my goofy husband so they enjoy spending time together as well. This weekend was the first time we have all been together since Matt and I went to their house for Melanie's birthday weekend in Fall 2003! (I have seen Melanie on only 3 brief occasions since that time). It was so fun to have the chance to catch up and to spend time together as families with children. Greg and Melanie have two darling girls, Kelsey (5) and Avery (15 months), so Jillian had playmates for the weekend. Jillian has been asking for "Selsey" and "Avey" ever since they left. Kelsey was very patient with Jillian, and Avery was rather cooperative as she allowed Jillian to steal toys from her without protest. We kept working with Jillian to share toys with Avery, but she interpreted "share" as the process of stealing a toy and then shouting "Share!". We'll keep working on that one.
Here are a few pics of our sweet girls on Independence Day.

I thought there were only 3 girls?!???

It rained all day on the 4th, but we managed to have a mini-fireworks show for Kelsey in the evening. Matt wanted to keep Jillian up for just a bit to see what she thought of the very small fountain fireworks he set off. The verdict? Fear. A rare emotion in the life of the wild child.

She quickly made her way to the back door and and shouted "house"! She was ready for bed in a hurry!
