The Last Week

Life with Jillian is proving to be counterproductive to blogging. So here I am again playing catch up...
We had a great time with Grandma and really appreciated all her help. She and Jillian enjoyed each other and even had a special all-night slumber party one night down by the Christmas tree (thanks, Grandma!)

One day Daddy decided it was time for a photo session.

Daddy was excited to try out the Bumbo seat. Mommy said that Jillian wasn't developmentally ready yet, evidenced by poor head control...but Daddy wanted to try anyway. This picture makes me laugh hysterically...

When Jillian is exceptionally fussy, with no cure, Daddy puts her in the swaddle blanket and turns her into a burrito

And, just because it's cute, here she is rockin' a cute sweatsuit from Aunt Mal

Yesterday, she surprised the heck out of us by actually falling asleep on a flat surface (her bassinet)...but it didn't last long. Here's proof that it happened, though! There is hope.

She's been sleeping well (fingers and toes crossed) at night anyway...7 1/2 hours last night! Mommy prays every night for this to continue. Now if she would just nap consistently. She's been smiling more the last two days, which really melts my heart and affirms that she's at least well taken care of, even if we don't have her all figured out yet. I'm still struggling with the breastfeeding drama and am at the end of my rope, but will spare you my inner turmoil. The important thing is that she's happy and healthy, even if she has a crazy, emotional mother :)

Finally, a video for your enjoyment. I set her in her crib after changing her diaper to go wash my hands and I returned to find her either kissing or eating her giraffe. You decide which it is. Hilarious.

Malia,
Tell me about your breastfeeding drama. I don't know what is going on, but could be some support with my 3 rounds of mastitis in 4 weeks. OUCH! I really hope that is not what is going on! We have a blog also for Hadley. ragonews.blogspot.com Enjoy!
