Weekend Visitors

Grandpa and Debbie made the trek up to visit us over the weekend, and we had a great time! Jillian was especially enamored with Debbie, always wanting to know where she was, what she was doing, and if she would play with her. (Thank you, Debbie, for being so patient and a willing participant in Jilly-play!). Daddy and Grandpa spent all day Saturday working on some new railing for the back steps and a gate for the deck. Now if we can only find a lock that Jillian can't break...she quickly demonstrated that opening the gate latch was no match for her!

Grandpa brought Jillian a special surprise....her very own Dora fishing pole! She had a good time practicing her rod and reel skills in the back yard.



We found a special spot in the garage for her fishing pole, and she proudly finds it every time we go to get in the car while telling me "I go fishing with my grandpa"

Since Grandpa's birthday is coming up this week, we decided to make him a special birthday cake. Jillian carefully selected the perfect "sparkles" (sprinkles) and candles at the store. We asked her how old Grandpa is, and she proclaimed that he is 2! So, Grandpa got 2 candles on his cake :) I thought we had a good video of her singing "Happy Birthday" to him, but when I went to upload it discovered that someone (read Daddy) didn't hit record until the very end of the song. Oh well, just trust me when I tell you that it was precious. We did get a cute picture of Jillian and the birthday boy, however.


After all that hard work of baking, Jillian creatively samples her masterpiece along with a scoop of ice cream.
