Sweet Baby

We owe Emily for graciously agreeing to scan our sweet baby again! It was so wonderful to get another peek at her, and boy has she grown since our last ultrasound at 18 weeks! She's definitely running out of room, and I was surprised at how much we could get a sense of what she looks like. Her organs look great, and I could really see detail in her heart including chambers, valves, etc (of course not until Matt and Emily pointed them out :)) She had a full bladder (must be her mother's daughter) and a full belly of fluid--we did observe her drinking a bit, which is so neat to see. She also seems to like sucking on her forearm--she had it draped across her mouth at times with her fingers hanging open. So, so cute. From what Matt and I can tell, we think she looks a bit more like me from this scan, especially if you consider my baby pictures. I had a more round face than Matt with a shorter nose. It does appear she has gotten a nice set of full lips (like her daddy), all the better to kiss her with. Only time will tell, of course, what our sweet girl will really look like, but we both left the scan feeling incredibly excited and anxious to get her here! Being the ever-worried woman, I had to ask Emily of course to give me the skinny on the cord situation--for some reason I am worried she's just in there wrapping herself in it. But, thankfully, cord looks good and loose, not stretched. Emily also took some measurements and by these measurements she could be close to 6 lbs 7 oz already--what?!!! I've still got 4 1/2 weeks to go. Of course, there is about a one pound margin of error on either side, so let's hope that is not an UNDERestimated weight! Holy moly. These measurements put her at the size of a baby due a week ahead of my due date--unfortunately it doesn't mean she will come by then, just that she's bigger than average, but hey, a girl can still hope right? Head is down and in the right position, so keep your fingers crossed she stays that way. Matt couldn't get the pictures to open, but here are some videos of the little lady for your viewing pleasure. This is a clip of her face and arm. If you watch closely toward the right side of the picture, you can see her face come in and out of view--can see the front view of nose, lips, and eyes. Her lips are close to her arm.



This one's similar to the previous clip, but her arm is covering her mouth most of the time.
