Healed

After 5 very long days in the house together, Jillian and I were finally able to rejoin the real world yesterday. The illness that began last Sunday with a a high fever just kept on giving. In the course of those five days we visited the pediatrician twice and made multiple nurse calls. An ear infection was diagnosed, GI troubles appeared, and a sudden rash/itchiness raised suspicion about a possible amoxicillin allergy. Thankfully, the rash (sounds odd to use the word thankful in the same sentence as a rash!) was due to a virus, and it is now a thing of the past.
We missed several playdates, music class, the final MOPS gathering of the year, and had to reschedule an 18-month photo session. I was very happy that we could attend the year-end Bible study brunch yesterday, and Jillian seemed pleased as punch to be back with "the kids" in the childcare area of the the church. It was very easy for me to tell when she finally started to feel better...she suddenly started jumping again. All jumping completely ceased with the illness. As tiring as it is to keep up with Jillian, it definitely is more fun chasing a happy child than a child who looks like this most of the day....

I am very glad to have my charming, exuberant, and curious babe who is always discovering new things back in action. The current preferred task at our house? Shoe modeling.

Someone should really tell her those don't go with her outfit :)
