Heat Wave

It has been delightfully warm around here the last few days. The natives find it unbearable, but those of us from "The South" (pretty sure I'm from the Midwest, but if you ask a true Minnesotan they'd tell you otherwise) find this heat to be a fantastic hallmark of summertime, and what we live to get a glimpse of all winter long.
Jillian is reaping the benefits of this weather, as she has had many opportunities for various forms of water play. On Sunday, we ventured across the street so she could play in the sprinklers for the first time with Kate and Kyra. She was a bit hesitant, and first just played with a bucket of water and a ball.

Soon it was time to figure out what this sprinkler contraption was all about. She had a bit of trouble figuring out that she could move herself out of the way if she didn't like it. Take a peek and watch her reaction. A rare still moment at an interesting time!


On Monday, Matt blew up the baby pool so she could splash around on the deck and cool off.

He even turned it into a waterslide! We can always count on Daddy to add a lot more fun to whatever we are doing.

Hopefully summer is here to stay for more than a week!
