15 Months

Jillian is 15 months old today, and we celebrated by going to the pediatrician for a check-up and two shots. Ouch! I felt bad that I had to wake her up early from a peaceful night of slumber to make the early appointment. She was a trooper, and I think the fact that she was held still for more than 2 seconds bothered her more than the actual shots. Jillian now weighs 24 lbs 1 oz (70%) and is 31 1/2" long (83%). Her head is still off the charts at >97% :) (but it is growing at a normal rate). I had my usual string of questions and a nice chat with the dr and that was that--no more shots until age 2! Wow.
After the visit, we were off to do some shopping at Target and then went to our toddler yoga class. We capped off the busy morning with another hour of play at the Rochester Athletic Club, which has the most amazing play areas for kids. Today, Jillian figured out how to propel herself on riding toys. Very fun!

Once home, lunch was served, and Jillian worked some more on feeding herself with utensils. This is something she is very interested in right now, so I indulge every messy opportunity.

But, hands really are much more efficient!

Sometimes I just can't get over how fun Jilly Bean is. She is charming, spunky, full of spirit....and pretty cute, too.

It is hard to believe that it was already exactly one year ago when she peeked up out of her carseat at me on her 3 month birthday to give me this grin.

I love experiencing the world through her eyes as she discovers each new adventure, hearing her sweet little voice call me "mama", and feeling her hand pat my back when she hugs me. What a wonderful little blessing we have!
