Yesterday Matt's friend Emily, who teaches the radiology residents OB ultrasounds, scanned me to give us a really good look at our baby! We owe her big time--this was such fun, and so amazing to see! We especially appreciate her taking her time and allowing us to really look at structures and marvel at the growth and movement of our baby. We were able to see the brain, stomach, ribs, bladder, fingers, toes, spinal column, developing cranial bones, mouth, nose, ears...just about every structure--except obvious genitals! The baby was sitting cross-legged, and though Matt thought perhaps he saw indications of a boy, he can't be certain. Emily offered to scan me again in a week or so. Anyhow, everything looked healthy to this point so we are incredibly grateful. It was so wonderful to see him/her moving around, bringing its hand to its face, and just being adorable. Here are some of the best pics we got. Enjoy! Thanks again, Emily!!!
This is a hand

Here are some toes!

Another profle--note the hand at the mouth

The face--note that the baby has his/her hands up by its head as though they are clasped behind it.

It really is amazing what you can see on those U/S pictures. Your little guy looks as happy as can be floating around in there! Enjoy.
